LL.M. in US Legal Studies

On-Campus in Norman, OK

The LL.M. in US Legal Studies program allows foreign-educated lawyers to gain a general education in US law and legal issues. Students are encouraged to tailor the curriculum to fit their individualized needs, and courses may be selected to help the student prepare for taking a bar exam in the United States.

US Law

US law is becoming increasingly complex, and all issues that attorneys practicing in the US will deal can be covered by the courses selected during this program.

Unique Student Experience

OU Law is very selective for the LL.M program and only admits about 20 students per start, which allows for a very personalized experience. LL.M. students work closely with the LL.M. advisor to build a program that fits their distinct interest in energy. This program is also not limited to the OU Law school but allows students to take relevant courses from other energy programs throughout the university.

Access to Energy & Indigenous Peoples Law

OU Law has strong expertise in energy law and Indigenous Peoples law and a large array of courses in these specialties. LL.M. students can access these courses in the law school – and also access courses across the university in the Price College of Business and the Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy.

Great Place to Study

Norman is constantly ranked as a top college town, and the state of Oklahoma boasts a friendly environment with a low cost of living. Enjoy the OU Sooners football and basketball teams while you are studying at OU Law – plus access to great cities such as Oklahoma City and Dallas that are close by.
